Integrator guidance

Ketra Linear Lighting in a complete system designed by Davis Audio & Video.

Floating staircase illuminated by Ketra linear lighting

G2 and LS0 solve different linear-lighting problems. G2 is a 12-inch architectural luminaire offered at 400, 700 or 1,000 lumens per foot with graze, narrow-flood, flood and wide-flood optics. A 180-degree aiming range supports coves, wall grazing and controlled illumination of ceilings or vertical surfaces.

LS0 Lightbar Slim serves shelves, cabinets, toe kicks, compact coves and displays. Current variants include 250-lumen-per-foot Uniform Lens, 350-lumen-per-foot High Output and 200-lumen-per-foot Long Run. Project-specific lengths run from 10 to 96 inches in one-inch increments.

G2 requires one N3 Satellite per zone; LS0 requires one X96 Controller per zone. Davis Audio & Video plans cable, segments, direction, connectors, mounting, access and HomeWorks Type X capacity before millwork or coves close.

Where Ketra linear lighting is the right fit

Ketra linear products suit continuous architectural light that must share scenes with Ketra downlights and lamps.

Indirect coves and ceiling details

G2 can illuminate a ceiling or cove. Output and optic follow setback, dimensions, reflectance and sightline so the surface glows without exposing the source.

Wall grazing and textured materials

The G2 graze optic creates a 10-by-60-degree distribution for vertical surfaces. Distance and aiming determine how evenly texture appears.

Under-cabinet and shelf lighting

LS0 fits compact details and project-specific lengths. Uniform Lens suits visible locations where an even luminous appearance matters.

Display, bar and millwork accents

High Output or Long Run LS0 can illuminate objects discreetly. Davis Audio & Video coordinates extrusion, connector paths, wire exits and service access with the fabricator.

What a properly designed Ketra linear system does better

Matches output and optics to the detail

G2 choices address throw and distribution; LS0 variants balance continuity, brightness and run length. Each detail receives the suitable configuration.

Preserves visual continuity

Custom LS0 lengths and connectors can reduce dark gaps around shelves and cabinetry. G2 segments form directional runs within published limits.

Coordinates linear and point sources

Ketra linear products can join compatible downlights and lamps in white-light and color scenes within each family's specifications.

Makes hidden infrastructure serviceable

N3 and X96 locations, cable paths, connectors and access panels are documented so concealed controllers remain reachable without dismantling finished millwork.

Professional design

Why professional Ketra linear design matters

Uneven shelves, reflective counters, shallow coves and visible connectors can create hotspots or shadows. Davis Audio & Video reviews the section, setback, extrusion, lens, mounting plane and sightline before fabrication.

One N3 is required per G2 zone. Current rules allow up to 40 feet of G2 fixture and 100 feet of total fixture-plus-cable run per N3. Runs cannot be T-tapped; sections are daisy-chained in the specified direction.

One X96 controls each LS0 zone: up to eight segments, 50 feet of cable and no T-taps. Uniform Lens and High Output allow 15 feet of fixture; Long Run allows 24 feet. The LS0 family remains on shop drawings.

How Ketra linear lighting fits into a Davis Audio & Video system

With HomeWorks QSX

N3 and X96 interfaces connect through Clear Connect Type X. HomeWorks provides scenes, schedules, keypads and coordination among lighting zones.

With Ketra downlights and lamps

A room can combine ambient, accent and concealed linear layers. Davis Audio & Video balances intensity so one does not wash out another.

With millwork and construction teams

Lengths, clips, controller access, wire exits and connectors are coordinated before fabrication to preserve appearance and serviceability.

With Lutron shades and room scenes

Compatible shades can manage daylight and glare while linear lighting supports architectural details. Named scenes retain local adjustment.

Planning notes

Ketra linear lighting project planning

  • Cove, shelf and cabinet sections are reviewed for setback, sightline, mounting, lens, reflection and heat before fabrication.
  • G2 output and optic or LS0 Uniform, High Output and Long Run variants are selected from the surface, distance and desired brightness.
  • Fixture length, cable length, segment count, connector direction and zone boundaries are checked against N3 or X96 limits.
  • N3 and X96 components receive documented, ventilated and serviceable locations outside permanent finishes.
  • Controllers are included in Type X radio-device counts and the mesh layout. Continuous power and interference separation are verified.

FAQs

Product questions

What is the difference between Ketra G2 and LS0 Lightbar Slim?

G2 is a 12-inch architectural luminaire for coves, grazing and controlled floods. LS0 is a custom-length luminaire for shelves, cabinets, toe kicks and compact details. They use different controllers and run rules.

Does Ketra G2 require an N3 Satellite?

Yes. HomeWorks requires one N3 per G2 zone. It connects the run to Ketra and counts as one device on the assigned Type X radio network.

Does LS0 require an X96 Controller?

Yes. Each LS0 zone needs one X96, a 96-watt Class 2 driver and Clear Connect Type X controller.

How long can a Ketra G2 run be?

HomeWorks allows 40 feet of G2 fixture and 100 feet total fixture-plus-cable per N3. Runs cannot be T-tapped and must follow the specified direction.

How long can an LS0 run be?

Uniform Lens and High Output allow 15 feet per X96; Long Run allows 24 feet. Each zone is limited to eight segments and 50 feet of cable.

Which LS0 output should I choose?

Uniform Lens provides 250 lumens per foot with an even visible lens, High Output provides 350 lumens per foot, and Long Run provides 200 lumens per foot with the longest published run. The architecture and viewing angle determine the best choice.

Can G2 or LS0 be cut in the field like LED tape?

They are specified modular luminaires, not generic field-cut tape. LS0 is ordered in lengths from 10 to 96 inches in one-inch increments, and both families must follow their published connector, segment and run rules.

Can Ketra G2 be used outdoors?

No. The current G2 page lists UL damp location and IP20 and explicitly says the product is not for outdoor applications. Davis Audio & Video selects a product rated for the actual environment.

Can Ketra linear lighting work with RadioRA 3?

Lutron's current residential comparison lists Ketra under HomeWorks, not RadioRA 3. Residential G2 and LS0 designs are therefore planned around HomeWorks QSX and Clear Connect Type X.
